Porcupine Mountains – July 2019

We found beautiful hiking at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Michigan.

  • Bond Falls near Ottawa National Forest
  • Mama with baby ducklings
  • Camp Holiday campground in Boulder Junction, WI
  • Rudolph Lake at the campground
  • Lake of the Clouds at Porcupine Mountains
  • Great hiking trails

This July we went on a trip through northern Wisconsin to Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in Michigan.

On our way we stopped at Bond Falls near Ottawa National Forest. The falls has a well-developed trail along its edge with a boardwalk and steps that lets you walk alongside the falls from its bottom to its top.

We stayed at Camp Holiday campground in Boulder Junction, Wisconsin during our vacation. The sites are private and wooded and there is a small lake you can enjoy.

We were able to hike extensively at Porcupine Mountains. Our first stop is always at Lake of the Clouds for an inspiring view of the natural beauty of the park. After that, we take off on some of the hiking trails. With over 90 miles of trails, I am sure we will find new adventures waiting for us on every trip.
